My Dear Grandmother

30 Apr

Talking to Felicia on the phone and she mentioned my grandmother. Today would have been my grandmother’s 111th birthday. Of course, no one is 111 years old. But she did live a very long time. She passed away on Christmas Eve when she was 88 years old. I can’t even imagine being 88 years old.

Anyway, Felicia knows it was my grandmother’s birthday because oddly enough HER grandmother has the same birthday. Except her grandmother is turning 81 this year and is still alive and living in her own home. I think it is wonderful that some people never have to worry about living in a nursing home because they have good health and family who love them and take care of them.

My grandmother did not have to live in a nursing home, either. My Auntie took care of care the last two years of her life and I really admire and respect her for doing that. I hope Auntie gets the same love and care when she gets older, too.

Day 9

09 Jan

Today is day number nine of being smoke free. It hasn’t been too awfully bad so far. I’ve been told that the first 3 weeks are the worst so I have a ways to go, but it’s looking good at this point. Been chewing a lot of gum and have ruined a few pencils from biting on them. LOL

Putting Them Down Once and For All

29 Dec

New Year’s Resolutions have never really been my cup of tea. But this year I am diving in, head first, with the promise of putting down the smoking of cigarettes that I have been participating in for way too long. The price of tobacco products has just gotten crazy and I’m tired of paying the high prices for something that is totally unhealthy for me. Wish me luck!

Hiccups

13 Apr

Is it just me, or are hiccups really annoying? Many of the  times when I get hiccups I’m trying to be quiet. Which is obviouslyeven more annoying. The only way to get rid of hiccups that works for me is to drink something upside down. But if you really do get hiccups because you grow, I suppose it’s a necessary evil. Ha ha!

Accidentally Cut My Finger With Kid Scissors

08 Mar

Last night I accidentally cut my finger using kid scissors. I was making a tissue paper rose for my friend and while trying to cut the end to round it, it got to my finger and cut it. Luckily there wasn’t any blood, but it still hurt. I’m alright though so that’s good! So be careful with scissors, even if their kid scissors!
