TV
One of my favorite channels that we subscribe to with DirecTV is the Discovery Channel. I have had it on for most of the day here in the living room as I spend some time on the computer and have seen a lot of good nature shows today.
The History Channel and Animal Planet are high on my list also. I’m finding myself watching these channels more and more these days, a sign of aging I assume, sigh……
My Life
I told you I was self employed, I just didn’t tell you want I do. I own a small family style restaurant in the little town I live in. We serve things like Chicken and Dumplins and the dumplins are home made too. I make a mean peach cobbler too. There are no pre-made anything served in ‘Hattie’s Place’. When you sit down at one of my tables, it’s like sitting down at my table at home and that’s the way I like it. Fresh hot out of the oven biscuits are served all day long. So if you ever come across ‘Hattie’s Place’, stop in a sit a spell. You won’t leave hungry or disappointed. I guarantee that.
My Faith
I’m not a religious fanatic but I have a very strong faith in God. I know that without Him, I would have been dead and gone a long time ago. Without God, I would be in the gutter somewhere with no one to blame but myself. Without God, I wouldn’t be able to laugh or even smile today. So here’s to the big guy that I have learned to lean on and walk with my head held high knowing He’s right beside me. He gives me strength and the courage to face each and every day, good or bad.
Broken Mirror
Last night I was in the living room watching TV and I heard a loud crash from the bathroom. As there was no one in the house but me, it definitely freaked me out to hear a loud noise from the other room. I mean, images of horror movies and all.
Turns out that the mirror over the bathroom sink fell. On its own. For no reason.
It took me almost half an hour to clean up all that broken glass. I hate the idea of getting a sliver of glass in your foot. So I cleaned and then cleaned again and cleaned a third time. And each time I found more slivers of glass. Unbelievable how much glass can be generated from one mirror falling off the wall.
