Here it is the end of summer and I’ve only been to the beach 3 times. This is a horrible summer for weather. It’s been cold and rainy the entire 3 months. I might as well be living in Seattle!

It seems like the summer has just flown by with no vacation and no beach time yet. That makes me sad. I really miss the beach. Maybe we can still find a hot weather weekend and make that long drive down to the Gulf of Mexico. Even if it’s for just one day.

Whole cities empty out, beach bound for this big weekend. Grills are fired up, sunscreen is slathered and coolers are loaded with ice from the convenience store ice machines. It seems like just a few months ago I was making a big resolution to lose 20 pounds this year and now I have another New Year’s resolution to come up with! So this year, I think I will try to spend more time outside enjoying the parks and lake near my house. I need to get more exercise and more fresh air, so I think I’ll buy a nice bicycle and start riding it around the neighborhood for an hour or so 3 or 4 times a week.

I don’t want a large crowd, but large enough so that I get a good mix of people that I know love football as much as I do, but have a good sense of humor and don’t take life too seriously, much like myself, thank you very much. I have a pretty large Flat Screen TV that should provide a good seat for my guests and it wouldn’t take much to buy some beer and munchies, along with asking each one to bring one food or beverage along with.

At this point we really don’t know who will be playing that day but each week the games have been very entertaining and exhausting and the Super Bowl should be a blast either way.
